Our professional team provide a pristine and efficient chimney service using both traditional and modern methods to sweep, clean and survey your chimney. We have experience with a wide range of chimneys; servicing open gas/solid fuel fires, stoves, closed appliances and pizza ovens.
Upon completion of your chimney sweep, you will be issued with a certificate to confirm your flue has been swept and tested under the industry standard and has been deemed up to code by a fully qualified NACS chimney sweep.
Sweeping your chimney will improve its efficiency and will help prevent chimney fires. However, the flue will need to undergo an integrity test to guarantee it is safe and does not pose a hazard to yourself or others.
Our Method
Fireplace and Chimney Inspection
On arrival, our team will carry out a detailed visual inspection of the fireplace, chimney and terminal to ensure it is safe and in line with current building regulations.
Fireplace Protection
The fireplace area will be protected with dust sheets and sealed to capture all soot/debris produced during the sweeps.
Sweeping and Power Sweeping
The chimney is swept in line with industry standards by fully qualified NACS chimney sweeps using either traditional brushes and rods or rotary power sweeping equipment. The brush is passed up and down the flue to clear dust and debris and to ensure the entire length is clear. We will inspect the soot, debris and any other deposits gathered during the sweeps noting anything of concern. Once swept clear, the waste produced will be cleared away with a HEPA filtered industrial vacuum cleaner.
Smoke Evacuation Check
A draught test will be carried out to ensure the chimney has sufficient draw to clear all combustible products from the fireplace.
Working Opening Size Test
If necessary, our team can test and calculate the working capacity for an open basket solid fuel or gas fireplace. The correct opening size is imperative to ensure all harmful fumes produced by the appliance go up the chimney and do not spill back into the room.
Bird Nest & Blockage Removal
At times it may be necessary to remove blockages such as empty bird nests or large deposits such as fallen masonry. We have several advanced methods to remove these blockages should they not be loosened by traditional brushes. A CCTV chimney inspection will need to take place before and after to optimise the safety and success of the work.
Chimney Pot and Cowls
All working chimneys will need a suitable terminal for the fireplaces intended use. For masonry chimneys, an open chimney pot is essential. However, it may also be necessary to install a cowl to protect the chimney from birds, rain or downdrafts of wind. Our team can recommend, supply and install many different chimney pots and terminals.
